South Shore Exhibition (The Big Ex)

Nova Scotia's largest agricultural exhibition, the South Shore Exhibition — affectionately known as The Big Ex — has been a Bridgewater tradition since 1891. For one week each summer, the South Shore Exhibition Grounds come alive with horse and oxen pulls, 4-H displays, an amusement midway, live music, a petting barn, and local food vendors.

The midway features carnival rides and games for all ages, while the agricultural barns showcase prize livestock, produce, and handiwork from across the region. Live entertainment ranges from local performers to headline concerts, and the demolition derby is a perennial crowd favourite.
