Prismatic Arts Festival

The Prismatic Arts Festival is a national, multidisciplinary arts festival that showcases and celebrates innovative work by Indigenous artists and artists of colour from across Canada. Based in Kjipuktuk (Halifax, Nova Scotia), Prismatic has been bringing audiences vibrant, boundary-pushing new works in theatre, dance, music, film, visual arts, media arts, and spoken word since 2008.

The 2026 festival runs from September 26 to October 4 across multiple venues in Halifax, including Neptune Theatre, NSCAD University, Dalhousie University, Eastern Front Theatre, the Dalhousie Art Gallery, and Symphony Nova Scotia. The lineup features artists including Bageshree Vaze, Dee Hernandez, Roger Mooking, Tania El Khoury, francesca ekwuyasi, and Women of the Fur Trade, with additional acts like Wolf Castle and Neon Dreams in the Beyond the Festival roster. Industry events — including the Open Spaces Program, Industry Series, and Masterclasses — offer professional development for emerging and established artists.

Presented with support from the Canada Council for the Arts, Canadian Heritage, Arts Nova Scotia, and the Halifax Regional Municipality, the festival is free or low-cost for many events, with ticketed performances available through the festival's ticket portal.
