The Halifax Salsa & Bachata Festival is Atlantic Canada's premier Afro-Latin dance celebration — a four-day cultural festival that transforms downtown Halifax into a vibrant stage for dance, music, art, and community connection. Now in its eighth year, the festival celebrates the richness and resilience of Afro-Latin culture through a mix of free and ticketed events that bring the Halifax Waterfront, Bedford Row, and the Art Gallery of Nova Scotia courtyard to life.

The festival lineup spans three signature days. Thursday opens with Salsa by the Wave, a free and family-friendly dance night right on the waterfront. Friday brings the Rhythm & Soul Street Fest — a high-energy block party featuring food vendors, pop-up dance showcases, dance lessons for all levels, and a live concert. Saturday reaches its peak with Arte y Ritmo, the Afro-Latin Street Gala and Art Exhibition. Over 50 local and international performers, live bands, DJs, and guest instructors take the stage across the weekend.
