Quick Facts
About TD Halifax Jazz Festival
The TD Halifax Jazz Festival, formerly known as the Atlantic Jazz Festival, was the oldest jazz festival and largest summer festival in Atlantic Canada, celebrating its milestone 40th anniversary in 2026. For six days each July, Halifax transformed into a jazz lover's paradise with performances spanning the full spectrum from traditional and bebop to funk, world music, and jazz-fusion.
The 40th anniversary lineup featured an exciting mix of international headliners and emerging Canadian talent, with the main stage set against the stunning backdrop of Halifax Harbour on the waterfront. Daytime programming included free community concerts, workshops led by visiting artists, and a creative music symposium for aspiring musicians.
With multiple stages across downtown Halifax, festival-goers could curate their own experience β from intimate club shows in historic venues to large outdoor concerts under the summer sky. The festival's Creative Lab program also provided free educational opportunities for young musicians, making it a vital part of Nova Scotia's music ecosystem.
