NHL STREET Harbour Fest

NHL STREET Harbour Fest brings the energy of professional hockey to the streets of Halifax for a free two-day street hockey festival on the Emera Oval at the Halifax Common. Presented jointly by the National Hockey League (NHL) and the National Hockey League Players' Association (NHLPA), the festival rolls into town September 12-13, 2026, transforming the iconic downtown commons into a pop-up hockey village with rinks, fan activations, music, and food. It's the kind of event that turns a casual passerby into a participant — show up with sneakers and you can play.

The programming is built around fast-paced street hockey tournaments for both youth and adult divisions, with teams registering in advance to compete on custom NHL-branded rinks laid down on the Emera Oval surface. Around the courts, the festival offers interactive NHL experiences: skills zones where kids can test their shot accuracy and speed, appearances by NHL alumni and the Stanley Cup, fan photo activations, live DJ sets, and a marketplace of hockey-themed merch and local food vendors.
