Kentville Pumpkin People Festival

Each October, the Town of Kentville transforms when more than 300 "Pumpkin People" — whimsical, gourd-headed figures arranged in clever and unexpected scenes — pop up all around town. Hosted by the Town of Kentville, this free, family-friendly festival has become one of the Annapolis Valley's signature autumn traditions, inviting visitors to follow a map and discover the displays as they explore the community.

The recommended route runs west to east along Highway 1, starting at Exit 14 (Coldbrook) and travelling through Kentville, Park Street, and Main Street so visitors can hit the best displays without navigating tricky turns or one-way streets. The festival is designed to be enjoyed as a full day out, pairing the outdoor displays with downtown Kentville's shops and restaurants, and with companion events such as a harvest festival, community markets, ghost walks, and local theatre productions that fill the October calendar.

The 2026 festival is scheduled for October 4–26. With its mix of homegrown creativity, endless photo opportunities, and small-town charm, the Pumpkin People Festival makes Kentville a rewarding October destination for families exploring the Annapolis Valley during fall colour season.
